Ask Ellie
Ask anything about your codebase
Finding out "what changed in the payments service last week" usually means a git log, a grep through Slack, and pinging whoever touched it last. Ellie answers it directly — in plain English, from the actual PRs, tickets, logs, and metrics your org already has connected, on the web or right in Slack.

What you can ask
Ellie isn't limited to code search — it's an engineering-org assistant with reach across everything Entelligence connects to:
| Category | What Ellie can do |
|---|---|
| Code & PRs | Search code, read files and diffs, pull PR/commit history, check git blame, compare branches |
| Tickets | Look up or update Linear and Jira issues, sprints, and cycles |
| Team & engineering metrics | Code churn and hotspots, lines of code by engineer, leaderboard standing, team/individual output, AI-agent usage, deployment analytics |
| Observability & incidents | Recent errors and recurring incident patterns, logs from Datadog, New Relic, Azure, BetterStack, or Axiom, current security scan results |
| Meetings & CRM | Pull context from Fireflies, Granola, or Lightfield meeting transcripts and CRM records |
| Org info | Repos, members, teams, integration status |
| Scheduled reports | Check or update your recurring Pulse digests |
If a question needs deeper, multi-step research across several of these areas at once — "why did lead time spike last sprint, and which PRs drove it" — Ellie automatically hands it off to a specialist research agent behind the scenes rather than giving you a shallow answer. You never have to pick a "mode"; you just ask, and Ellie decides whether it's a quick lookup or something that needs deeper digging.
Web vs. Slack
It's the same Ellie either way — same underlying knowledge, same integrations, same answers. Use whichever fits the moment:
- Web (
Ask Elliein the dashboard) — best for longer sessions, generated charts/tables, and building something you'll want to revisit or export. - Slack — best for a quick question in the channel where the conversation is already happening, or looping teammates in on the answer directly.
A few real examples of what people ask
- "What changed in the payments service in the last week, and who reviewed it?" — pulls commit/PR history and reviewer data.
- "Are there any recurring errors in production right now?" — surfaces active incident patterns from connected observability tools.
- "Summarize our deployment frequency and lead time this month." — computes DORA-style metrics on the fly.
- "What's blocking the SSO-2 ticket?" — reads the Linear/Jira ticket and its linked PRs directly.
- "Pull up the notes from yesterday's incident review." — reads a connected meeting transcript.
Integrations
Connect any of these to widen what Ellie can answer — code hosts (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), project trackers (Jira, Linear), Slack, and observability/analytics tools (Sentry, BetterStack, Sumo Logic, Datadog, New Relic, Axiom, PostHog, and more). Ellie only draws on what's actually connected, and will tell you what to connect if you ask about something it can't see yet. See Setup for the full integration list and exact connection steps.
